Dear sir,
I want to apply for the post of intermediate typist clerk, advertised in the Mauritius Times of 14 September 2019.
I am a young man of 20 years of age with sound health and active habits. As for my qualification is concerned, I am an arts graduate. I graduated year before last with first class marks in economics securing 85% in aggregate.
I have also done a certificate course in shorthand and typing. My speed in shorthand and typing is 80 and 40 words a minute respectively.

At present I am employed with a small engineering firm as a typist and my work involves much of tabulation and figure work besides usual running matter. Before this I worked for about 4 months as a part-time typist with a lawyer.
My present employer is quite satisfied with my work conduct and does appreciate these, but I feel the post you offer has better chances for my capacity and capability. My present employer will be glad to give a reference for me.
If I am appointed to the post, I shall do my best to give you entire satisfaction.
Yours faithfully,
Ram Gulam Joshi
